Florida Governor Rick Scott is leading a delegation of nearly 80 Florida-based aviation, aerospace and defense companies, educational institutions and economic development agencies this week at the Paris Air Show. “Florida is home to one of the [U.S.’s] largest aerospace and aviation industries and has long been the world’s premier gateway to space,” he said. “The Paris Air Show presents a unique opportunity for business and community leaders from our state to meet with the most influential aviation and aerospace companies in the world to expand opportunities in the Sunshine State.”

According to Enterprise Florida (Hall 3, AB132, A132, A145), the state is home to more than 2,000 aerospace and aviation companies employing some 87,000 workers. During the show, Governor Scott and Florida secretary of commerce Gray Swoope will meet face-to-face with approximately 40 aerospace companies. These meetings will be used to promote job growth and business development in Florida’s aviation and aerospace industries. Swoope is also president and CEO of Enterprise Florida, an organization tasked with promoting economic development in the state.

In addition to the business development meetings, Enterprise Florida is hosting the Florida Pavilion showcasing 16 small and midsize companies and organizations looking to market their products to an international audience. This includes Aerospace Precision; Associated Aircraft Manufacturing and Sales; Avionica; BRPH Architects–Engineers; Commercial Jet; CTS Engines; Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; Future Metals; Infinity Air; JAXUSA Partnership; JBT AeroTec; Loos & Company; Pinellas County; Relli Technology; The Beacon Council; and Turbopower.
