Bob Hoover Awarded with 2014 Wright Brothers Trophy

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) congratulated Robert A. “Bob” Hoover on being awarded the 2014 Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy. Hoover was given the trophy–awarded annually to a living American for “significant public service of enduring value to aviation in the U.S.”–by the National Aeronautic Association last week at a dinner sponsored by the Aero Club of Washington. His 50-year career began in the Army Air Corps, where he distinguished himself as a pilot during World War II. Afterwards, Hoover became a flight-test pilot and then later spent nearly four decades flying as an airshow pilot.
