Russian Helicopters achieved positive financial results in 2014, but its orders backlog fell by almost a third.

Russian Helicopters today delivered solid financial results for 2014, while acknowledging that its orders backlog as of year-end was 32 percent down on where it had stood 12 months earlier, at 546 compared 808 aircraft. Nonetheless, 2014 revenues increased by 23 percent to reach 170 billion rubles ($3.2 billion) and on this it achieved earnings before tax, depreciation and amortization of 47 billion rubles ($888 million). Deliveries last year remained stable with 271 rotorcraft produced. The Moscow-based group increased investment in factories to 13.2 billion rubles ($249 million), while spending on aircraft development programs dropped to 7.4 billion ($140 million).


During 2014, more than 1,000 Russian and international pilots and mechanics were trained at the group’s Kazan Helicopters, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant and Rostvertol subsidiaries. Export clients come from countries as diverse as South Korea, Peru, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
