The Airbus Foundation, philanthropic arm of the Airbus Group, is highlighting here its recent partnership formed with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), aimed at working jointly to develop key technologies in support of IFRC’s humanitarian work. Under the partnership, teams from both organizations are identifying Airbus Group technologies with potential application in humanitarian response such as cargo drones, decontamination, and satellite imagery.
IFRC is the world’s largest volunteer-based humanitarian network, some 17 million strong, assisting people in more than 190 countries. The Airbus Foundation, since its 2008 launch, has facilitated more than 47 relief or goodwill flights to numerous global destinations, and transported more than 630 tons of aid.
