Educational materials provider Fulcrum Labs has launched an online training program aimed at helping students pass the FAA’s Airframe & Powerplant certification. According to the California-based company, this is the first test preparation in this field to combine personalized, adaptive learning and predictive analytics to help candidates prepare for the high-stakes tests in a go-at-your-own-pace format.

Developed with assistance from the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, its designers said the course covers everything a technician needs to know to pass the general, airframe and powerplant written tests. It features nearly 100 animated videos that explain complex theories, as well as provide real-world test problems. Users also have access to more than 1,000 practice activities to familiarize themselves with the test environment.

The company noted its self-directed pace can reduce test preparation times for test candidates by as much as 50 percent. “Creating a test-prep experience that not only fits into learners’ demanding schedules, but also engages them on an individual basis and produces better outcomes is a win-win,” said Fulcrum CEO Patrick Weir. “Our methodologies eliminate the time intensive one-size-fits-all test prep environment.”
