Content Body

Gardner Aerospace has won a slew of new contracts, together worth more than $70 million. To support the new work, the company is expanding its worldwide production capacity.

The deals include Gardner’s first work on Boeing’s 737. It will provide GKN Aerospace (Chalet G1) with 737 wingtip and sharklet navigation light housings.

Gardner also won work with GKN on Airbus programs, including a contract with Airbus for turned parts on the A330 and A350 programs. These will be produced at the firm’s production site in Poland.

The company also picked up work on Embraer’s E-Jet E2 family when it signed agreements with two new customers—Composite Industries of France and ASCO of Belgium.

Gardner (Hall 1, Stand 1285)  is expanding production capacities and capabilities around the world. It already has facilities in the UK, France, Poland, and India. It is building a 44,593-sq-m (480,000-sq-ft) plant in Chengdu, China, which is slated to open by year-end. The site will supply that country’s growing aerospace sector and support Western aerospace firms looking to expand their sourcing in China. Notably, Gardner was bought in 2017 by China’s Shaanxi Ligeance Mineral Resources (SLMR).

The company has invested more than £10.6 million ($14 million) to expand manufacturing capacity and capabilities in Poland and India. It is expanding its facility at Mielec, Poland, by 1,951 sq m (21,000 sq ft) to 7,246 sq m (78,000 sq ft), and adding extrusion machining. It is making similar investments at its plants in Tczew, Poland, and Bengaluru, India.
