ITT’s Cannon division unveiled at the 2018 Farnborough Airshow its new RPR EN4165-Style Receptacle with PCB Contacts, a lightweight, modular interconnect solution designed for high-speed data transfer in commercial aerospace applications. An Arinc 809-compatible solution, the RPR is “ideal” for high-speed Ethernet and PCB (printed circuit board) applications, the U.S. company said. It features a lightweight, space-saving design without compromising transfer performance, connectivity security, or signal integrity.
“The increasing need for high-speed data to support larger in-flight entertainment content and demanding avionics applications is deriving the requirement for more advanced, higher-speed data transfer rates in commercial aircraft,” said ITT Cannon v-p of sales and marketing Anh Phan. “Our new RPR meets this need head on.”
The RPR has also been designed for ease of maintenance and servicing, incorporating a proprietary latching mechanism allowing front release and rear removal of the insert from the shell after PCB/Panel mounting, an option on all of Cannon’s RPR receptacles.
