Singapore Technologies Engineering inked $1.5 billion in contracts in the fourth quarter, bringing its full-year 2019 contract value to $7 billion. Some $4.2 billion of these new contracts last year were secured by the company’s aerospace segment, doubling the dollar value of this division’s contract wins from 2018.

ST Engineering’s spectrum of aviation manufacturing and MRO service businesses including nacelle component, floor panel manufacturing, and airframe and engine maintenance services. New MRO contracts included heavy maintenance for Boeing 757s operated by a U.S. airline; transition checks for a freight operator’s MD-11s; and landing gear overhaul service for Japanese airline Solaseed Air’s Boeing 737-800s over a four-year period. They also covered a number of maintenance-by-the-hour, including a 15-year engine-support program for Japan Transocean Air’s Boeing 737NG fleet.

Another $449 million in contracts were secured in the fourth quarter by ST Engineering’s electronics sector for products and solutions in smart mobility, satcom, internet of things, cybersecurity, public safety and security, and defense. This brings the electronics division's total contract wins in 2019 to about $2.8 billion, up from $2.2 billion in 2018.

Its public safety and security business also secured key new wins, including an air traffic control tower simulator system for the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, completed with 3D models for Manila, Clark, Mactan, Davao, and Plaridel Airports. In the UK, its training and simulation business was selected by Boeing Defence UK for a networked training capability to the Royal Air Force.
