Airbus and Mubadala Investment Company have teamed up on a program to provide internship opportunities for Emirati senior university students in engineering. Under the agreement signed during the Dubai Airshow, Airbus will host 12 Emirati students at its headquarters in Toulouse, France over the next three years. The students will receive mentorship and work under the supervision of Airbus experts and specialists.
Mubadala will support the initiative. Fatima Al Marzooqi, director of portfolio Emiratisation at Mubadala, said the initiative “will not only bolster our future-focused knowledge-based economy in the UAE but provide an exceptional opportunity for Emirati students.”
She further called the internship a significant milestone in Mubadala’s Emiratisation program. “We can support the UAE’s continued acceleration and transformation by fostering talent that can thrive in sectors vital for Abu Dhabi’s future growth and success,” she explained.
Mikail Houari, president of Airbus Africa and Middle East, added that the partnership builds on Airbus’s long-standing work with local and regional organizations to nurture, develop, and inspire young talent. “Ensuring youth have the right skills and knowledge supports the future growth and progress of the aviation and aerospace sectors,” Houari said.
More than 5,000 students of all levels and entrepreneurs have participated in Airbus programs in the region since 2015.
