AIN Media Group has reached an agreement in principle to acquire Leeham News & Analysis (LNA) into its product portfolio. Announcing the planned move on Tuesday at the Paris Air Show, the New Jersey-based news, events, and data group said it expects to complete the transaction following the completion of customary documentation.
For almost two decades, LNA has provided expert coverage of aircraft technology, economics, airline fleet planning, maintenance, repair, overhaul strategy, and market trends. According to AIN Media, the addition of the company’s specialized reporting and analytical expertise will enhance the depth and breadth of commercial aviation intelligence available to AIN Media’s global readership.
“Leeham News & Analysis has built an outstanding reputation for delivering sharp, insightful reporting on the air transport and aerospace sectors,” said AIN Media Group president Ruben Kempeneer. “By bringing Leeham’s expertise into the AIN family, we are expanding our ability to provide readers with even more critical industry insights, expert commentary, and exclusive coverage of key aviation developments.”
AIN Media Group produces a wide array of editorial content at its AINonline.com platform. The company produces the weekday daily AINalerts newsletter, a weekly FutureFlight newsletter focused on new technologies and business models, and daily publications at multiple airshows and aviation conventions around the world. AIN Media’s portfolio also includes the business-to-consumer Business Jet Traveler publication and its weekly BJT Waypoints newsletter, as well as AircraftPost, a leading provider of fact-based insight, analysis, and statistics about business jets and their market values.
“This is an exciting new chapter for LNA,” said Scott Hamilton, founder and managing director of Leeham Co. and editor of LNA. “This agreement provides LNA with the infrastructure and resources to expand its coverage of commercial aviation, including the original equipment manufacturers, the supply chain, the alternative energy sector, and new aircraft concepts and entrants.”
