Overland Aviation, together with Williston Basin International Airport (KXWA) and Make-A-Wish North Dakota, raised more than $20,000 during the inaugural Williston Plane Pull and Fly-In Movie event held on August 16.
The fundraiser featured the first plane pull held in Williston, with six teams competing to pull a Sun Country Airlines Boeing 737 for a distance of 100 feet across the airport ramp. Later in the evening, families gathered inside Overland Aviation’s hangar for a showing of the animated film Planes on a large screen, alongside live entertainment, family activities, and refreshments.
“This event was a true example of our aviation community coming together for a cause bigger than ourselves,” said Tanner Overland, president and founder of Overland Aviation. “We’re grateful to work alongside Williston Basin International Airport, Make-A-Wish North Dakota, and Sun Country Airlines to raise funds and awareness for this life-changing mission.”
The event highlighted the partnership among aviation organizations in the region, which combined resources to benefit the community and children. Organizers said the funds will help Make-A-Wish North Dakota grant wishes for children in North Dakota facing critical illnesses.
Overland Aviation, founded in 2011, operates as a full-service FBO offering aircraft refueling, ground handling, flight training, charters, maintenance, and other services across the upper Midwest.
