The Northern Planes chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) will host its third annual Girls in Aviation Day on October 12 at the Fargo Air Museum. The event, dedicated to encouraging youth to explore aviation and aerospace careers, is free for participants and chaperones.
Activities will include hands-on STEM projects, opportunities to meet professionals from across the industry, and access to modern and historic aircraft on display. The first 50 attendees will receive a special-edition event bag. Pre-registration is encouraged for faster check-in.
The program runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is part of WAI’s global outreach effort, with chapters worldwide organizing similar events. “Our goal is to empower local girls by opening the doors to the many career opportunities available in aviation right here in North Dakota,” said Kate Feitel, president of the Northern Planes Chapter.
“We are committed to creating a supportive environment where youth can meet role models, ask questions, and imagine themselves in the world of aviation,” Feitel said. The chapter is seeking additional volunteers and sponsors for the event.
Girls in Aviation Day is presented annually by WAI, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing networking, mentoring, and scholarship opportunities for careers in aviation and aerospace.
