Content Body

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering of Dubai has coordinated several aircraft charters to New Orleans for BP and other responders in their effort to stem the oil leak from the Deepwater Horizon rig site in the Gulf of Mexico. The aircraft charter firm has arranged flights from Europe and Asia in response to the spill, including a cargo charter using a Boeing 747-400F aircraft to transport around 60 tons of technical oil spill equipment from East Midlands (UK) Airport to New Orleans.

A chartered 747-200F from Singapore to New Orleans, coordinated by Chapman Freeborn, also carried 55 tons of equipment to help in the spill response. Additionally, the firm arranged two more 747-200F charters to ship 80 tons of equipment from Qingdao, China, to New Orleans.

Chapman Freeborn has also set up private jet passenger transport for a Netherlands-based salvage specialist company that was dispatched to the Gulf Coast immediately after the Deepwater blowout.
