Bombardier Looks To Close First CRJ900 Deal in China
Subtitle
Bombardier’s continuing efforts to cultivate ties with Chinese industry appeared to pay some dividends last month
Subject Area
Content Body
Bombardier’s continuing efforts to cultivate ties with Chinese industry appeared to pay some dividends last month, when the company signed a conditional purchase agreement for six CRJ900s from an unidentified Chinese airline. The deal, the first involving the CRJ900 in China, calls for the airline to take options on another five of the airplanes, which could raise the value of the transaction to $491 million.
Bombardier projects the 20-year demand for commercial airplanes in the 60- to 149-seat segment in China to total 2,400 units, helping to make it the world’s second largest market for new aircraft deliveries, following closely behind the U.S.
