Content Body

The FAA recently added six accident modules to its “Lessons Learned” online and publicly available safety library. The library contains “valuable information learned from some of the world’s most historically significant accidents,” the agency said. The new modules are from the following air carrier accidents: Capital Airlines Viscount (1960); Atlantic Southeast EMB-120 (1995); Birgenair 757 (1996); Fine Air DC-8 (1997); Air France Concorde (2000); and British Airways 777 (2008).

The library’s collection now has 76 modules. Each 30-minute module relies heavily on multimedia as a means to educate and engage the aviation community. “Creative combinations of videos, animations and photographs make the information easy to follow and understand, even for an aviation novice,” according to the agency.
