Swiss e-Enables Its C Series With EFB and Server

Swiss has chosen Esterline CMC Electronics’s PilotView Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and Aircraft Information Server (AIS) as factory options for its new Bombardier C Series aircraft. This latest version of the EFB features a 12.1-inch multi-touch display that runs off an Intel Core i7 processor. Coupled with the C Series’s EFB display, the AIS provides integrated connectivity with flight operations and cabin applications.

“The PilotView AIS addresses the ever increasing data sharing, application hosting and secure connectivity requirements associated with cockpit, cabin and aircraft maintenance applications and systems,” explained Esterline CMC’s director of EFB and aircraft information systems. “It addresses the pre-requisite aircraft inter-domain security between those wired and wireless systems making the C Series e-enabled.”
