Honeywell (Chalet 8) has been named a value-added reseller (VAR) of the new SmartSky 4G LTE network for the North American airline market, the companies announced this week at the Paris Air Show. SmartSky provides low latency air-to-ground (ATG) broadband connectivity over the Continental U.S. and coastal waters “similar to office environments,” according to SmartSky.
The network provides enough bandwidth to run cloud-based applications, access virtual private networks, make large data transfers, surf the web, or stream videos. Honeywell is currently a SmartSky VAR for to the business aviation market.
“Honeywell brings a world-class approach to the market and we are excited to partner with them, further diversifying the cost, speed and capacity of the broader range of services they support for airlines throughout North America,” said SmartSky Networks president Ryan Stone.
