Russian Helicopters and Air Ambulance Technology to jointly develop module for Ansat helicopters
Content Body

Rostoc State Corp.’s Russian Helicopter Holding Company and Air Ambulance Technology of Austria signed an agreement on joint development and Russian certification of a medical module for installation on Ansat helicopters this week at the Paris Air Show. The multipurpose light-twin Ansat, which Russian Helicopters said has the largest cabin in its class, is widely used by Russian air medical services.

“Creation of the new medical module which meets international standards for medical aviation will allow the holding company to expand the pool of potential customers, including European companies,” said Russian Helicopters director general Andrey Boginsky. “We expect that installation of such equipment will help Ansat get a certificate of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.”

No details on the planned med mod have been released.

High-altitude tests have confirmed Ansat can operate at altitudes of up to 3,500 meters (11,483 feet) and in a temperature range between -45 and +50 degrees C (-49 and 122 degrees F). “The possibility of keeping the helicopter out of the hangar and low cost of operation are its significant advantages,” Russian Helicopters said.
