British Columbia-based regional airline Central Mountain Air (CMA) has rolled out a web-based safety, quality, and risk management reporting system, iQSMS, from Vienna, Austria's aviation safety and quality management software developer ASQS, the companies said Tuesday. ASQS’s collaboration on safety management system (SMS) upgrades with CMA further expands the Austrian company’s presence in the Canadian aviation industry.
The iQSMS module covers the entire reporting process, both online and offline via mobile devices. Customizable reporting forms and event classifications that correspond to the users’ requirements along with anonymous reporting and the ability to attach images, videos, and documents to reports, streamline CMA's reporting processes and strengthen transparency and communication within the organization.
ASQS calls the ability to report from mobile devices from anywhere at any time, even when without an internet connection “a massive advantage” of its safety management product. The iQSMS reporting offline app allows staff to file reports, which then get loaded into the live system as soon as it re-establishes connectivity.
“We at Central Mountain Air were excited when we came across ASQS’ iQSMS software during our research and demoing stage of SMS software,” said the airline’s SMS manager, Jon Beliveau. “We were looking to upgrade to a more modern system with greater capabilities and iQSMS fit that bill perfectly."
