Installation Near for Stage III Hush Kit

Stage III Technologies, which 18 months ago received an STC for its Stage 3 hush kit/cascade thrust reverser for Gulfstream IIs and IIIs, plans to have its long-awaited first installation under way in February at Western Jet in Van Nuys, Calif. The La Jolla, Calif.-based company said it also expects “to finalize sales on units two through four this year.” While the hush kits from both Stage III and its competitor QTA (which has already installed more than 45 systems) meet Stage 3 requirements, the FAA-approved flight manual supplements show that the Stage III system is quieter than QTA’s system in all three measuring parameters, as well as in total.
