Taiwan to lift ownership Ban

Taiwan’s government is expected to lift a long-standing prohibition of private aircraft ownership in the first quarter of next year. Several charter providers that already operate helicopters as permitted under existing rules have indicated, off the record, that they are now making plans to buy business jets later this year.

The Taiwanese Civil Aero- nautics Administration has already prepared new regulations clearing the way for both private and commercial operations of fixed-wing business aircraft. The nation’s parliament must now approve these regulations. To date, Taiwanese firms have registered and based their aircraft in other countries to skirt the regulation.
