The FAA has approved a pairing of Raisbeck Engineering’s ZR Lite performance system for the Learjet 35/36 with West Star Aviation’s RVSM system. No changes to the West Star RVSM installation are required for any of the Raisbeck systems, and previously equipped RVSM airplanes also need no updates when installing the ZR Lite system.

The combination is applicable to any 35/36-series Learjet equipped with the West Star RVSM system. Raisbeck Engineering is currently completing similar certification efforts with Bombardier Aviation Services and expects inclusion of the ZR Lite system with Bombardier’s RVSM system soon.

According to Raisbeck, the ZR Lite system offers operators increased allowable mtow from higher-altitude airports and shorter sea level runways, shorter climb times, higher initial cruise altitudes, lower fuel burn rates and a 6-plus percent increase in range.
