New Jets To Come with Pilot Safety Program

Bombardier Aerospace's new Leading Edge is a flight crew safety-training and resource program being offered at no-charge with the purchase of a new Bombardier business jet, starting next February 1. According to the Canadian aerospace company, Leading Edge is a "culmination of industry-leading knowledge and safety skills training" developed in conjunction with the Bombardier sponsored Safety Standdown–an annual safety seminar opened to all business jet pilots–and focused on the human factors in causing, as well as preventing, accidents and incidents. Key components of the program are unusual attitude or upset flight training for two pilots at the National Test Pilot School in Mojave, Calif.; training by Dr. Mark Rosekind on countermeasures to combat fatigue; and a safety-management system resource kit developed by Dr. Tony Kern.
