Content Body

Mercury Air Group signed a letter of intent to take on the management contract for a new FBO at Kuwait International Airport. Jet Aviation had announced plans to open an FBO in Kuwait in 2004 but revealed to AIN late last year that it had discontinued those plans. The Mercury project is in cooperation with Kuwait’s United Projects, the company behind the previously planned Jet Aviation FBO.

Scheduled to open toward the end of this year, Mercury Kuwait will offer concierge services, flight planning, wireless Internet access, catering, immigration and customs, auto rentals, limousine services, pilot and customer lounges, a restaurant and commercial aircraft boarding. Mercury Air Group expects to finalize the agreement with United Holdings early this month. The new Kuwait FBO will be Mercury Air Group’s first, as it sold its 20-FBO Mercury Air Centers FBO chain to Allied Capital in 2004.
