Content Body

Aircraft owners and operators should start watching their mailbox for an invitation to participate in the FAA’s 2006 General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey. Those selected will receive a letter containing directions to participate in the Web-based annual survey, as well as their unique code to complete it. This year’s survey will include all turbine-powered aircraft owners and owners and operators of aircraft on Part 135 certificates, all rotorcraft, Alaska-based aircraft, and light sport aircraft–in all, targeting 84,000 GA aircraft. The questionnaire comes in two types, one for fleets of three or more aircraft, and another for those with only a single registration number. Participation in the survey is voluntary, and the data gathered will be compiled to provide information for safety and usage studies. While the agency would appreciate completed surveys, it will accept any information owners and operators are willing to provide. The final date for participating is August 6.
