PrivateSky Aviation Services, Inc. (www. privatesky.net) of Fort Myers, Fla., has enhanced its NDT capability with the addition of a ComScan non-destructive testing scanning machine. The company is an FAA-certified Part 145 repair station specializing in Gulfstream IIs, IIIs, IVs and Vs.
ComScan is being used by PrivateSky to perform a mandated 72-month interval inspection at the 580 bulkhead on all GIIs and GIIIs. The procedure, specified in Gulfstream maintenance manuals and Service Bulletins, is an aircraft structural examination similar to an X-ray for humans.
“Having the ComScan in house at Private-Sky enhances our ability to service Gulfstream customers at our new maintenance service center facility,” company chairman Vincent Wolanin said. “It was the last piece of support equipment we needed in house to provide 100-percent support for all Gulfstream jets.”
