Embraer, which is having a good sales week at EBACE with orders for 11 aircraft announced thus far, has selected the CAE Burgess Hill, UK training center as the European training location for the Phenom 100 VLJ and Phenom 300 light jet. CAE will provide instruction using Simfinity training devices, which operate on the same simulation software as the CAE full flight simulators. Training will begin in 2009 to coincide with the projected first Phenom 100 delivery in Europe. Embraer also said this week that it is extending the cabin of the Phenom 300 an additional 14 inches (36 cm), creating 15 more cu ft of space. The change allows for the option of an extended galley and one- or two-seat divan, the company said. The $2.98 million Phenom 100 is scheduled to fly within the next couple of months and enter service in the middle of next year. The $6.65 million Phenom 300 is slated to fly in the middle of next year and enter service a year later.
