Signature opens new FBO at Boston

Since March, Boston-bound business travelers have enjoyed Logan International Airport’s first modern FBO in many years, the new Signature Flight Support facility, which held a grand-opening ceremony on June 22. The $13 million FBO was built to environmentally sound standards, and Signature is applying for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The FBO includes a full security screening system (X-ray and metal detector) for pilots and passengers leaving the FBO’s airside doors to the ramp. The building features a glass-fronted two-story atrium-style lobby, a separate VIP center with its own entrances and security screening and architect-designed landscaping. On June 21, Signature broke ground on a new 6,700-sq-ft terminal at Palm Springs International Airport. The new building will also feature green design elements and is scheduled to open early next year.
