Universal EFI-890R Certified in GIII

Universal Avionics has obtained supplemental type certification (STC) for its EFI-890R display retrofit in a Gulfstream III. IFR Avionics of Van Nuys, Calif., finished fitting the airplane in late June with four 8- by 9-inch flight displays, Vision 1 synthetic-vision system and an application server hosting Jeppesen electronic charts. The server interfaces with dual UNS-1 flight management systems and Universal’s class-A terrain awareness and warning system. The STC covers three Gulfstream models: the II, IIB and III.
