After a year-and-a-half-long court battle, maintenance-tracking provider Camp Systems International and Gulfstream Aerospace signed a cross-licensing agreement that settles the dispute. Under the agreement, Gulfstream will permit Camp to use Gulfstream’s copyrighted maintenance manuals on a non-exclusive worldwide basis for 15 years. In addition, Camp will provide Gulfstream with access to maintenance and reliability data for the Gulfstream fleet tracked by Camp’s Web-based tracking system. The dispute arose after Gulfstream sued Camp in April 2006 for copyright and trademark infringement, for using Gulfstream maintenance manuals in Camp’s tracking business. Neither company would say if any money was exchanged in the latest settlement.
