Canada-based aircraft completions specialist Flying Colours (Booth No. 4625) has unveiled plans for expansion of its Peterborough, Ontario location. In addition to its existing 60,000 sq ft facility–which is dedicated to exterior painting, interior completions and modifications, aircraft maintenance and repair–Flying Colours is beginning construction on another 30,000-sq-ft building that it expects to complete early next year.

According to the company, this state-of-the-art facility, to be used primarily for interior completions and maintenance, will also house employee offices, conference facilities and a client lounge. The move marks a clear indication of the direction in which Flying Colours is headed. “It will allow us to further expand our completions and maintenance capabilities,” said company president John Gillespie. “The new facility is a direct result of our continued movement into large-cabin-size completions.”

As further evidence, Flying Colours– which boasts more than 30 years’ experience in the aircraft refurbishment and maintenance industry–recently announced a contract with an undisclosed U.S.-based client for executive conversions on three Bombardier CRJ200s.

Flying Colours maintains a good working relationship with fellow Canadian firm Bombardier and is a preferred completions provider for the manufacturer’s business jets.

Flying Colours describes its CRJ200 modification as an “ExecLiner” completion that converts the regional airliner to a full VIP configuration, including additional fuel tanks for extended range. The first of its three latest CRJ conversion projects is scheduled to arrive at the company’s facility later this year. Around the same time,  Flying Colours plans to deliver its first CRJ ExecLiner as part of an earlier contract with a separate client.
