Shadin Avionics (Booth No. 8350) is introducing a new version of its engine trend monitoring system, the ETM XL, with USB-drive downloading, more memory and recording frequencies that meet Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 TBO-extension requirements. A major change for the ETM XL is that it has FAA supplemental type certification approval for the engine type instead of the airframe. “This will allow for numerous installation opportunities whether the aircraft is fixed-wing, rotorcraft, turboprop or turbine-jet powered,” according to Shadin. ETM XL features include aircraft position via GPS interface, pressure altitude, indicated airspeed, heading, N1, N2, ITT, torque and fuel flow. The ETM XL comes as an engine-mounted data processor but will soon be available with a 3 ATI cockpit display and eventually as a primary means engine instrument replacement display.
