Montreal-based Mecaer America (Booth No. 5319) has announced record growth for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2007. The company–which saw revenues rise from $11 million to $19 million (Canadian)–specializes in design, development, manufacture and support of hydraulic and mechanical landing-gear systems, dampers, valves and power modules. Mecaer has lately invested heavily in equipment for VLJs, and company president and CEO Armando Sassoli admitted that the move involved risk and “we felt somewhat nervous at the beginning.” He expressed confidence, however, that VLJs will become “an increasingly important niche,” and added, “we just can’t wait to see hundreds of VLJs taking off and landing with Mecaer landing gear.”
