Total Aircraft Services (Booth No. 6151) of Van Nuys, Calif., has completed a radar pod for a Gulfstream III operated by NASA Dryden Flight Research Center. An Earth Science Capabilities Demonstration project, the unmanned air vehicle synthetic aperture radar (UAVSAR) is jointly supported by NASA-Dryden and NASA-Jet–Propulsion Laboratory. TAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ikhana Group, built two radar pods and developed and installed a centerline pylon with a MAU-12 ejector rack on the belly of the aircraft. The bomb rack is used to carry the UAVSAR pod. The GIII provides a platform not only to test and evaluate the new radar, but also to gather scientific data for geological studies on earthquake prediction. The Ikhana Group also owns RW Martin, an aircraft modification company at French Valley Airport in Murrieta, Calif.
