Content Body

Bombardier has issued a Service Bulletin for installing redesigned on-off placards for the oxygen bottle regulator in the Learjet 35 and 36, and the FAA has followed up with a special airworthiness information bulletin recommending that operators incorporate the changes. The agency said it has received reports, including a December 2000 NTSB recommendation, “verifying that the on-off position of the oxygen bottle regulator is difficult to ascertain visually.” The gauge on the oxygen bottle indicates only bottle pressure (not oxygen system pressure) regardless of the position of the system’s shutoff valve, which is located in the nose cone and, therefore, is inaccessible to the crew during flight.
