AT&T Wireless has sent letters to customers of Claircom air-to-ground telephony services, telling owners of the Claircom telephones it will no longer offer services to the business aviation market after September 1. In the letter AT&T explained its reasons for getting out of the GA communications business, saying demand is “no longer sufficient to cover the ongoing costs to provide the service.” AT&T recommended customers contact AirCell, MagnaStar or Stratophone, a retailer of the Wulfsberg Flitefone VI, for their future air-to-ground communications needs.
