AirCell Axxess Satcom Gets EASA OK for Challengers

AirCell has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for its Axxess EZ satcom system on Bombardier’s Challenger 600, 601 and 604. Introduced late last year, the system was designed to reuse the MagnaStar system’s existing aircraft wiring and component locations, reducing installation downtime. It also gives operators the option of retaining key legacy system features–such as call alerting and integrated fax capability–when replacing MagnaStar. Axxess EZ, according to AirCell, is now being offered to Challenger operators with special reduced pricing for the EASA certification package. The Axxess EZ system has worldwide voice capability and interface capability with SwiftBroadband when it becomes available next year.
