Cabflex gets the green light

Cabin electronics specialist Intheairnet, based in Irvine, Calif., is reportedly close to signing its first business jet customer for the new Cabflex cabin entertainment and control system. The system includes audio/video switching, a graphical control unit for access to lighting and audio, individual seat controls, video monitors and a DVD player that can accommodate a variety of formats.

A company spokesman said Intheairnet is talking with completions centers about the Cabflex system, introduced at the NBAA Convention in the fall. Originally developed for the VIP aircraft market by Intheairnet subsidiary IEC of the UK, the product package is being adapted for smaller business aircraft.

Cabflex is offered in two baseline packages, the first for aircraft with six to eight passenger seats and the second for airplanes with nine to 12 seats. Price for the six- to eight-seat Cabflex system is $62,000 plus installation, while the nine- to 12-seat version starts at $72,000.
