Content Body

Safe Flight Instrument last month announced it has gained approval for a low-airspeed awareness (LAA) display as part of the angle-of-attack (AOA) computer system used in the EFI-890R retrofit cockpit in a Challenger 601-3A. The retrofit avionics system, developed by Universal Avionics of Tucson, Ariz., presents LAA warnings alongside TAWS, TCAS, weather, navigation and other flight information on four 8- by 9-inch displays. The installation also includes a 6- by 4-inch MSD-640 multifunction display. Duncan Aviation recently performed the first installation of the EFI-890R cockpit at its Battle Creek, Mich., facility.
