Bombardier Global 5000, Nova Scotia, Canada, Nov. 11, 2007–The three-week-old Global 5000 was carrying its owner, the cofounder of the Tim Horton’s restaurant chain, and seven other passengers when it landed short at a resort community’s private airstrip. The nosegear dug into gravel and broke off when it hit the lip of the paved runway surface, sending the airplane skidding down the runway on its belly, causing substantial damage. Heavy snow and strong winds were reported.
