All hangars full at Houston airport

Houston Executive Airport has leased all available new T-hangars, some even before they have been built. The new Houston airport opened last January to offer a new alternative for general aviation operators in the Houston area. Built west of downtown Houston by former commercial pilot and Houston native Ron Henriksen, the new airport features a 5,050-foot runway that will eventually be extended to 7,604 feet. Henriksen is also building a new two-story FBO, Henriksen Jet Center, slated to open this year. “General aviation airports are disappearing at an alarming rate across
the country,” said Andrew Perry, Houston Executive Airport’s executive director. “[The airport] has been thoughtfully and carefully planned to meet the specific needs of business travelers and to provide a much needed alternative to those doing business along Houston’s energy corridor.”
