Content Body

The FAA granted a request from four trade associations to delay the compliance date of new repair station rules. The agency published the rules on Aug. 6, 2001, with an initial effective date of April 6, 2003. The Aircraft Electronics Association, Aerospace Industries Association, Aviation Suppliers Association and the National Air Transportation Association petitioned for a 180-day delay of the compliance date to allow time for repair stations to prepare the required manual based on guidance from an advisory circular that has yet to be published. Since AC 145-MAN has not yet been published, the FAA has extended the compliance date to Oct. 6, 2005.
