Second SJ30-2 Enters Flight Testing

Sino Swearingen last month started test flying the second conforming version of its SJ30-2 twinjet, a milestone that company president and CEO Carl Chen described as a “tremendous step toward” FAA certification. Despite this and other remarks that certification of the more than 10-year-old program might move forward, the company at press time said it wasn’t ready to reveal a certification date different from the previously announced fourth quarter of this year. Company officials also would not provide an update on the number of deposits it holds, although a year ago officials said they had orders for 150 aircraft.
