Gulfstream closes Weco's Burbank base

The FAA recently suspended the repair station certificate of Weco Aerospace Systems of Burbank, Calif. Weco, acquired by Gulfstream Aerospace a year ago, was an FAA Part 145 and EASA repair station with Class 1, 2 and 3 accessory and Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 instrument ratings. Gulfstream said it has been investigating quality-control issues at Weco and, upon discovering the issues, stopped customer shipments, began a quality-control review, launched an internal investigation and notified the FAA. Repair and overhaul operations at Weco’s Burbank, Calif. facility have been discontinued permanently.
