Outfitter Refurbs Interior Refurb Process

Duncan Aviation has introduced an aircraft interior refurb program known as “Arkitektuair,” the result of a three-year study and the implementation of new technology, machining and efficiency processes. A computerized numeric-controlled cutting machine allows production of components at tighter tolerances and reproduction of the pieces quickly and easily using electronic “templates,” according to officials. Designs from Arkitektuair (pronounced ar’ki tek’cher) have created interior components such as a one-piece headliner for the Learjet 30 series that permits removal and replacement without disturbing the sidewalls. According to Duncan v-p of completions and modifications marketing Jeannine Falter, the design team is creating interiors that allow customers to “build” an interior of modular components but with a high degree of customization.
