NATA: Where is online student notice system?

When the Aviation and Transportation Security Act was adopted last November, the flight-training industry was told that an online system would be in place by January to expedite submissions of the required notifications to the attorney general when a foreign national applies for training in aircraft with a mtow of 12,500 lb or more (or simulators for such aircraft). Since the system is not yet online and the Department of Justice has up to 45 days after receiving the notice to inform training organizations whether they can or cannot provide the training, the National Air Transportation Association has asked the DOJ to put the system in place “swiftly.”
