Boeing maintaining BBJ delivery rate

Despite a slowing economy that is diminishing the rate of orders for some business jet manufacturers, delivery rates for many other manufacturers are holding firm. For example, Boeing reports that it delivered eight Boeing Business Jets in the first half of this year, the same number it delivered in the first half of last year. Since being introduced in 1996, 36 BBJs have entered service. The first BBJ2, based on the 737-800, was delivered for completion in March and is scheduled to enter service next year. Boeing said it had sold 71 BBJs through October last year. The company announces orders just once a year, at the NBAA Convention.
