Yuma (Ariz.) International Airport will soon have a new FBO competing for
business. Diamond Air Airlines, a Part 135 charter carrier based at Yuma since 1993, has acquired 100,000 sq ft of ramp space and is spending $280,000 to build a 3,000-sq-ft executive terminal to service corporate aircraft. The new two-story terminal will house a rental-car counter, catering facilities, pilot lounge, conference room,
telephone and fax access, computerized weather information and a connection to the local FSS. Diamond Air will also be an AvFuel dealer, installing self-service avgas and full-service jet-A facilities at its location adjacent to Runway 17/35. All construction is scheduled for completion by September 1.
