SLJC absorbs Hudson General

Following a deal that was more than two years in the making, Salt Lake jetCenter (SLJC) has acquired the former Hudson General assets leasehold and facilities at Salt Lake (Utah) International Airport (SLC). Having changed its named identity from Hudson General to GlobeGround, the company retains its airline fueling concession and will lease space from SLJC. According to jetCenter president Larry Ulrich, the acquisition will consolidate the Salt Lake City operations into one entity, more than doubling the size of the existing SLJC. Available hangar space will be increased from 30,000 sq ft to almost 70,000 sq ft. In addition, SLJC leases space to an avionics shop, charter operator and a flight school. The consolidation reduces the number of FBOs on the field to two, with Million Air Salt Lake City providing the competition. “FBOs on an airport are like arms, legs, eyes and ears,” Ulrich told AIN. “Two is a good number.”
