Content Body

The FAA and Transport Canada have certified the $450,000 Head-up Flight Display System (HFDS) developed by Thales Avionics of France as an option on Bombardier’s Global Express. The HFDS allows crews to make approaches and landings to Cat II minimums and provides guidance during all phases of flight, as well as recovery from unusual attitudes. Global Express program manager Luc Fouquette said Bombardier will now accelerate its certification program for an enhanced vision system. Flight testing is anticipated to begin next year.
